Home Birth Kit
I promised these pictures awhile ago… mea culpa!

List of supplies in the kit.
—-

Top layer of the kit.
—-

Bottom part of the kit, layer one.
—-

Bottom part of the kit, layer two.
—-

IV fluids? and catheter tubes. I assume they don’t ACTUALLY go together, but I put them together for ease of picture-taking.
—-

Various tubes and whatnot.
—-

More stuff, including a suture set.
These are just the things that I have on hand now. Apparently if I were for any reason to have my baby unassisted, and assuming no health problems, these are all the supplies I’d need to have — and please don’t take that as me saying I am going for an unassisted homebirth or that my midwife even supports such a thing, since neither are true, I’m just talking worst case scenario; i.e. my labour is ridiculously fast, my baby starts crawling out of my coochie, and no medical personnel gets here in time to help out. The midwife brings duplicates of everything here as well as extra ‘machines’ like you would find in a normal hospital birth room.
Today is 38 weeks 1 day!

Even looking at all that stuff makes me nervous for you.
This is not to say that I don’t believe you are safe and sound being at home – I do. Just makes me nervous….
So NOT for me!

Nah, I hear ya… if all I had to go by were the pictures, I’d be worried for me too!

Just a quick note about the IV. I was so against one but by the time I got to the hospital I had been up for 24 hours already. I was obviously dehydrated and had low blood sugar so when they gave me the IV I felt so much better….so if you feel like you need it..use it!!!
